Only 40 years ago-1960's! is not true French Impressionism, but rather contemporary. Check an Art News "artist Index" at your library. If this person was "doing impressionism" in the 60's he was not "mainstream"
I'm reposting this as it's been 2 years: Has anyone heard of a painter by the name Daude? He was a french impressionist about 40 years ago. Please email me at Lipson@att.net
Also, I think his full name may be Andre Daude. It doesn't appear to be Alphonse Daudet to the best of my knowledge. I know that the paintings were sold in Philadelphia around 1961, and some were found in Paris.
