I posted this 2 years ago, so this is a repeat question.

Thank you!!

Neil

Only 40 years ago-1960's! is not true French Impressionism, but rather contemporary. Check an Art News "artist Index" at your library. If this person was "doing impressionism" in the 60's he was not "mainstream"

I would like to learn more about Daude. My family was on vacation in Paris in 1961 and purchased two paintings by Daude, one of which I have.

Could you possibly be looking for Lucien Alphonse Daudet, French artist whose dates are 1883-1946. Plenty about him on the Internet!

I can post a photo of one of the paintings. Am I allowed to do that (copyright), and if so, how do I do it? Thanks, Neil

RE: A Daude painter

I have been contacted by a few people that own one or more of his paintings. I am keeping a library of the photos if anyone is interested.

Also, I think his full name may be Andre Daude. It doesn't appear to be Alphonse Daudet to the best of my knowledge. I know that the paintings were sold in Philadelphia around 1961, and some were found in Paris.
