Here's an Oscar host idea

| I was thinking back to the time when they had Letterman - I believe he only did it once, and come to think of it, that's a shame because he is the perfect blend of humor and decorum.
BUT I was thinking, if they feel that Dave is getting a little stale, how about Jon Stewart? He has great comic timing, can hit all the hot button issues, has a classiness and he's young enough to hit the youth market the Academy is all so concerned about. |

| Good idea, but he's not a "movie guy" anymore than Letterman was. It's just not his crowd. |

| The question of the times... who's your perfect host? Actually, I'd love to see Tom Hanks in this role someday! |

| He's not a movie actor, but I've seen him with some of the nominees on his show. Annette Bening, when Being Julia came out. Don Cheadle, as well. And he seemed pretty comfortable and gracious with them, and vice versa. But he's nobody's monkey, so it's possible he wouldn't want the gig. |

Great idea Paula! And imho, moongirl, Jon Stewart can't do any worse than this year's pick... whose humour I do not care for at all. Who knows? Perhaps they asked Stewart and he declined... |

| I was just wracking my brain trying to see who would fit the bill...I agree that Jon Stewart is not "a movie person" but then is Chris Rock, really? Or David Letterman for that matter? That's why I thought of him. Truly, what does the Oscar host have to do anyway? If you string together all secinds of a host's time it's a total of 8 minutes. That person is in the beginning and the end and maybe thrown in the middle a few spots to add some humor and break things up. I think Jon Stewart cna handle that! He's certainly topical enough. |

| Ellen DeGeneres.....she was even in a movie once. |

| Oooh Oooh Another GREAT idea! I love Ellen's dry sense of humor; yeah, she'd be excellent! She'd get everyone up dancin' lol |

| I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ellen - she'd be perfect - less controversial (can you believe I just said that?) What I mean is, ok, she's topical, but her subjects aren't topical, like political and stuff. She would hit all the right notes with movie star jokes. And she interviews stars now. People seem drawn to her easy style. For some reason I feel like she did it once. Am I crazy? |

| Ah! What a terrific choice she would be for the Oscars! Better than Chris Rock, anyway. Right now anyone would be better than Chris Rock. I was really excited about him hosting, I thought it would be edgy and fun but he had turned it into a atrocity. I'm very disappointed with him. You'd think after being chosen to host the most watched show on TV he'd have a little humility - ok that's asking fo rmuch from him, that's fine - but at least have a little class. What ever happened to Class? |

| Moongirl - are you singing "Whatever Happened to Class" from "Chicago".........or did you just use that expression? |

| How about having Mel Gibson and Michael Moore co-host the Oscars? Talk about controversy. |
