In need of movie ideas...

Posted by Carol_Ann (My Page) on

Hi, all,

I'm looking for two kinds of movies: 1. very funny (but not stupid-funny) and 2. uplifting but not preachy or sappy or too corny. Tall order? :) I hope not! We especially like old classics and foreign films, if that helps, although there are lots of other movies we like, too.

Also, New Year's Eve is going to be a slumber party at our house for some kids (all under 11) so if you have great ideas for a family-type movies that would be enjoyed by all, I'd welcome that. The youngest is 6.

Thanks, everyone!

I have to agree with The Party (with Peter Sellers. I nearly rolled off the couch when I saw it for the first time.)

I also think "The Spy who knew too little" is a real funny one. Just have fun with it. It is a spoof. Bill Murray thinks he is in a TV series and others think he is a spy. Lots of Laughs The whole family can have fun with this.

"Rocky" is very uplifting... "Babe" for the kids, but not just the kids!
