Buck Owens RIP

Not a good week for country music. Especilly Texans.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Country music legend Buck Owens has died at his home in Bakersfield, Calif. He was 76.

Owens was famous for numerous country and western hits and a recurring role on the television show "Hee-Haw." He also founded the Buck Owens Crystal Palace in Bakersfield -- an iconic showplace for country music.

A family spokesman made the announcement of Owens' death on Saturday morning.

The cause of his death was not immediately clear

I always respected buck owens and roy clark both,even though im not a huge country music fan.He did a great job on hoyt axtons act naturally,as did ringo.I enjoyed their work on hee haw too,but with all due respect to owens and clark i usually tuned in to check out misty rowe and barbie benton.

I'm not a fan of today's so-called country music, but my
dad used to listen to the heavy duty C&W artists back in
the sixties, especially the hard-core honky-tonk cats, so
I picked up a bit of appreciation for guys like Buck Owens.
And even though he did "Hee Haw", he never became a country
music joke. Buck may be gone, but Dwight Yoakam's there to
carry on.
