Wow. Great question.

At first I was thinking Roger Daltrey. Then I started thinking Jim Morrison.

Jim didn't have someone like Pete Townshend to compete for attention with. Often, Jim liked to try and insite something just to see what the audience would do.

My vote is for Jim Morrison.

This is tough. Rock has had some really dynamic talent. I
saw Jim Morrison live once. He didn't do anything goofy or
controversial, he just put on a really good show. Daltrey
is another good choice. Peter Wolf from the J. Geils Band.

My vote is for Freddie Mercury.

Roger Daltrey has a trout farm not all that far from where I live, and has had a very nice chat with my very nice husband. For that, for his skills at lassoo-style microphone handling and for his lovely blond hair, he would be my favourite frontman.

Staying with the trout theme - I saw Marillion play a couple of times in the 80s, with the ever excellent Fish fronting.

When you think of a great frontman you would have to start with mick jagger,i would say.The beatles dont count because they had two of them.

Peter Gabriel, of course.

Springsteen gets my vote, with Bryan Ferry a close second.

I like all that were mentioned. Don't forget Sting with The Police or Robert Smith with The Cure.

Robert Plant...no doubt about it!
