NEW YORK (AFP) - Cate Blanchett will play Bob Dylan in his "androgenous phase" in a new biopic of the great poet-songwriter's life, it was announced, as Dylan turned 65

It shouldn't be done. A good portion of biopics just don't
cut it, and most films dealing with rock are laughable.
Not all, but most. I just can't see anyone getting the
essence of Dylan.

I can see a strong resemblance ;)

I think the only person who could play Dylan with any conviction would be Clint Eastwoods character,'The man with no name',they both have the same charisma and presence, along with Mohammed Ali they are three of the few people who could stop the conversation if they walked into a crowded room.(In my opinion).

Are they giving her carte blanche? (Sorry, I jsut can't look at that name and not think that.) And who the lleh is Cate Blanchett, another famous actor I should know?

Well-known Brit actress. Very talented. Verrry good with dialects:
Katharine Hepburn to DiCaprio's Aviator(she won an Oscar)
a far-West mom opposite Tommy Lee Jones in The Missing
a Newfie in The Shipping News
an American in Bandits, opposite Bruce Willis and BB Thornton
a Southerner in The Gift
Queen Elizabeth
Lord of the Rings
need I say more?
(I rather see her do Dylan than Zellweger do Janice!)
