| Doug Newman's "The Cat Album" is nothing but songs he wrote about his cat, which he sings with his own accompaniment on acoustic guitar or, for "Guru Kitty," on the dulcimer. He had performed in a local club where I found the CD. Some selections are hilarious, some are touching and some I skip over. My favorite might be "Kitty Come Back" which sounds almost exactly like Neil Young wrote it. Or maybe the fake French folk song about kitty litter -- that one's funny. |
