Against all the odds I have my bookmarks all tucked into cards ready to go. I have amazed myself! Not even December yet. I do apologize in advance for my horrid handwriting, which deteriorates as my hands age along with the rest of me. I hope it is still legible enough to be deciphered by our intrepid postal workers.

As always this will be fun and I am deeply grateful to Rosefolly for carrying on the tradition.

I have the email and am ready to get some cards together. THANK YOU for all you've done to pull this together!

Siobhan gets credit for the first bookmark and card to arrive out here on the West Coast, beautiful handwriting and a clever bookmark.

My own are sitting on the cutting table of my sewing room waiting to be addressed. This weekend my DH and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with lots of out-of-town guests. My plan is to get to the bookmarks once that is over.

I received Siobhan's bookmark, too! My daughter insisted that we use the lion bookmark to mark our bedtime book. :)

I have also received Sioobhan's bookmark. I have just finished getting my christmas presents that need to be mailed ready and am planning to get my christmas cards/bookmarks ready to mail this week sometime.

I just put my bookmarks in the mail today and hopefully the really long distance ones (hi, Kath!) will arrive before Christmas.

I've already received Siobhan's and Yoyobon's bookmarks -- I do love getting RP presents in the mail, this is always so much fun!

I mailed mine today, too, Sheriz6. I love the pretty wreath stamps for the ones going outside the U.S.

I agree it is fun and have received the same two as you have. I tried my hand at making mine this year, and I must say they look it. I'm craft impaired.

I opened the first one that arrived but am piling up the rest to open all at once. I do love tradition we have developed.

Mailed mine yesterday. I got a little carried away and you will be getting several in mine. The odd looking one is made of photos my daughter took at Lincoln Center on a trip to see The Nutcracker.

I have loved all the bookmarks I've received so far. I feel like starting a bunch of books just to put my wonderful bookmarks in them.

I was going to have mine mailed out early but my good intentions fell by the wayside so tonight is my designated night to address and stamp the cards.

I have received several bookmarks as well and am enjoying looking at all the different ones.

yoyobon, how do you make the cards into boxes? That sounds intriquing; I'd like to try it for next year. Would you mind sharing the directions?

I measure mine 1 inch instead of the suggested 3/4 inch and not only does it make it simpler, it is a deeper box.

If you have a clear quilter's square it will make it easier to measure and draw the lines.

I usually put a bit of Tacky Glue to hold the fold overs and keep them in place with paper clips until dry.

Be careful not to cut the bottom piece too much. I found that just barely taking off a tiny bit on ONE end and ONE side works best.
Sometimes not trimming at all works.
You have to experiment.

My bookmarks will be in the mail shortly. I have to go to the post office and get some more stamps on my lunch break. I addressed all my cards last night while watching The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as a refresher before going to see the last Hobbit movie. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks to go see it so the theater won't be as crowded.

I have received many bookmarks and love them all. This is really fun

While you're opening your cards, you might enjoy this delicious treat !!

DISARRONNA MOCHA ITALIA

Note: I use a 1/4 cup measure for the "parts"

Mix in a lovely cup or mug:
1 heaping teaspoon good hot cocoa mix
3 parts hot coffee
1 part DISARRONNA Originale Liqueur

Top each cup with a generous amount of spray on real whipped cream ( in the can gives a lighter top).

Thanks, everyone. The bookmarks are delightful and made getting the mail exciting.

I am just tidying up the house after the holidays, putting away the decorations, and I have just enjoyed looking at this year's bookmarks once again. What a wonderful tradition this is, and I treasure every one. I have tucked a few in the stack of books by my bed, and the others are on my desk ready to go - bring on the TBRs! Thank you, everyone!

I'll add my thanks as well. I so enjoy this RP tradition, and I love all the bookmarks I've received over the years. I have two book-themed coffee mugs that hold them all, and choosing a bookmark to use each time I open a new book is the best sort of small pleasure. Thanks, everyone!

Funnily enough, I too, have an idea for next year's bookmark exchange. It's all thanks to the sister I visited at Christmas. She's very crafty and decided to make some bookmarks while I was there. If I don't forget...I am going to utilize one of the designs she made (and gave to me) for the next exchange.
Sheriz6, I like your idea for storing bookmarks and am going to look for something similar in which to store mine. Right now, they are in various locations around the house. I want to gather them all together so I can select just the right one for whichever book(s) I happen to be reading at the moment.

I have a wooden bin on a shelf of my desk, a sort of in box. I keep any bookmarks I am not currently using. It is getting to hold a substantial collection! I'm sure I've lost a couple over the years, but I still have nearly all of them.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this event. One year I skipped it because too much was going on in my life and I found that I really missed it.
